MRSpure Recycling Extruder von Gneuss

The MRSpure extruder by Gneuss is based on the MRS (Multi-Rotation-System) technology but separates the melting process from the degassing process. The polymer melt is fed into a large single screw drum with several small extruder barrels parallel to the main screw axis. These barrels contain satellite screws driven by a ring gear, rotating opposite to the main screw. This significantly increases the melt's surface exchange. The MRS technology allows for efficient and gentle decontamination of heavily contaminated materials without pre-drying, meeting global food contact standards.

Unlike the standard MRS, the MRSpure extruder includes a melting extruder upstream of the MRS element, decoupling the "melting" and "degassing/deodorizing/decontamination" steps. This allows for individual optimization of process parameters for each step. Depending on the melting process requirements, a single or twin-screw extruder can be used, enabling the MRSpure to be retrofitted into existing lines for degassing and decontamination tasks. The MRSpure is particularly suited for highly viscous and complex polymers and their mixtures.

Typical applications include closed-loop recycling of HDPE bottle caps, HDPE milk bottles, LDPE waste, and mixtures of different polymers. Various international food approvals confirm the high cleaning efficiency (super-clean), making it suitable for direct food contact and recycling packaging products in the cosmetics industry.
